Tastes Like Chicken

Gary Ricketts, recipient of three Emmy® Awards, enjoyed a long career in television production and management. Following retirement from the ABC Television Network, he actively pursued marketing his photography through several venues. In addition to individual and corporate sales, his photographs have been licensed for use by Sun Day Greeting Cards, National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, and Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America, and others. His photographs have been featured in numerous galleries and museums in New York City, Cape Cod, Minneapolis, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, and more. More recently Gary focused his attention and efforts on black and white photography, creating a unique style, which resulted in several awards including Best of Show—Photography Center of Cape Cod. Third Place and an Honorable Mention, New York Center for Photographic Art, and many more.

Gary has presented his presentation titled “Capturing History Though Photography” at several venues where he reveals the history hidden within each image. “We see history in our everyday lives, but seldom recognize it. Learning the connection to history contained in an image adds an extra dimension of appreciation for the viewer.” His presentation titled “Shutter Click To Print—Finding Your Voice”, is designed to help photographers of all levels go beyond the rules of technically perfect images to creating unique artistic photographs.

Whether color or black and white, Gary continues to pursue and reveal the hidden history in each image to the delight of viewers and collectors.

His most recent black and white solo exhibit,” Everyday People—We Are All Alike, We Are All Unique”, was well received at the Gadsden Museum of Art.
